◆ Workplace records

Keep a dated copy of the work record before you raise it.

You export an email chain, a rota, or a payslip before raising a grievance or handing in notice, knowing the system it lives in is not yours. Record the export the day you make it and your copy stops depending on your word alone. It says nothing about whether the export was complete or fairly made.

The record is a Base transaction we cannot delete or take back, so it is still there whatever happens to your account or to us. Keep the export exactly as you made it, and keep the receipt.

A finalized record means we observed a successful Base L2 receipt, not Ethereum settlement. Independent checking needs the retained file, receipt and suitable Base history access. Read the evidence limits.

◦ Use cases

Ways to use a dated file record

Ml

Exported correspondence

Record the export the day you make it, and keep the export itself. The comparison needs that exact file, not a forward or a screenshot of it.

Cl

Rota and hours

Record the schedule or timesheet you were shown, before it is amended in a system you may no longer be able to open.

Fl

Payslip or policy version

Record the version of the document that applied to you at the time, and keep the messages that explain it beside the receipt.

▸ FAQ

Common questions, answered plainly.

Does this prove the document is genuine?

No. It shows the file you exported existed by that date. Whether the export was complete, or fairly made, is not something a fingerprint can speak to, and a page that told you otherwise would be selling you something it cannot deliver.

The system belongs to my employer. Does that matter?

It is the reason for doing it. Once your access ends, the only copy in the argument is the one the other side controls. Recording yours fixes which version you were holding, and when, before that becomes a question.

Can you see what is in the file?

The file body stays on your computer. Notarization sends the fingerprint plus filename, byte size and available type. Metadata stays off-chain. Be aware that a fingerprint is not encryption: where a document’s contents are predictable, someone can test a guess against it and learn whether it matches.

Do I need an account?

No account is needed to check a file or download the independent verifier. Create an account and verify your email to notarize files and manage your records.

Need a dated record of this file?

Keep the source data and receipt. A matching digest supports a limited comparison; it does not establish truth, identity, authorship, ownership, custody, or a legal outcome.
