◆ Insurance records
Document the damage before the assessor arrives.
A pipe fails on a Sunday and the assessor arrives eleven days later, after the room has been dried out. Record the photo set and the inventory the day you make them, before remediation changes the scene. It cannot establish when a photo was captured, what caused the loss, or whether a claim is true.
The record is a Base transaction we cannot edit or withdraw, so it is still there if the claim reopens two years later and we are not. Keep the photo set exactly as you recorded it, and keep the receipt.
What happens if we shut down →A finalized record means we observed a successful Base L2 receipt, not Ethereum settlement. Independent checking needs the retained file, receipt and suitable Base history access. Read the evidence limits.
◦ Use cases
Ways to use a dated file record
Intake copy
Retain the claim file and receipt so the intake version can be compared with its submitted digest.
Inspection version
Checkpoint selected inspection-document versions alongside identity, device, and workflow records.
Review packet
Give reviewers the retained files, processing rules, receipts, and contextual claim records they need to assess the checkpoint.
▸ FAQ
Common questions, answered plainly.
The assessor comes days later. What do I record now?
The photo set and the inventory, on the day you make them, before remediation changes the room. You keep the files; we hold the fingerprint.
Does it prove the damage happened when I say?
No. Causation is not in the file, and neither is the moment of the loss. It can show the images existed by a date, which is the part your own word cannot supply.
Do I have to send you the photos?
No. The browser hashes them on your computer and sends the fingerprint, filename, size and available type. Those details stay off-chain; the file contents stay on your device.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to check a file or download the independent verifier. Create an account and verify your email to notarize files and manage your records.
